2013 Upper Midwest Law Fair

The fourth annual Upper Midwest Law Fair (UMLF) will be held on Saturday, October 26 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Law School. The UMLF is co-hosted by the four Minnesota law schools and is held at alternating schools each fall.

The UMLF was conceived in 2010 with the intent to provide prospective students and pre-law advisors access to Midwestern law school admissions professionals in a law school setting with informational breakout sessions about the law school application process and opportunities to meet with each law school in attendance. The fair has grown since its inception and now hosts hundreds of prospective students and many pre-law advisors from around the Midwest. The UMLF is free for all attendees.

Host Law Schools:

In addition to the host schools, many other law schools will be in attendance. The 2013 UMLF will also have representatives from the following schools:

Law School Representatives
If you are a law school and would like to register to host a table at the event, please contact Kate Snowdon at jdadmissions@umn.edu for a registration form. Space is limited and preference will be given to schools located in the Great Lakes and Midwest region.

Event Agenda
The UMLF will offer the opportunity for prospective law students and pre-law advisors to meet with admissions representatives throughout the event. In addition, there will be a current student panel offered twice, which will allow you to ask current students about their navigation to law school and their current experience. Pre-registration for breakout sessions is not required.

Parking at and near the University of Minnesota Law School will be limited due to the Gophers vs. Nebraska football game on Saturday, October 26 (time TBD). The parking lot immediately next to Mondale Hall (C86) will not be available during UMLF as it is closed for season ticket holders and tailgating. Specific information on campus parking during game days is available here. When attending the UMLF event, please plan a little extra time for traffic and consider the following parking options:

University Parking:

  • 19th Avenue Ramp (West Bank): Event parking rate is $10 (upon entry)
  • 21st Avenue Ramp (West Bank): Due to the game, the event parking rate will be in effect. Let the gate attendant know that you are attending the event at the Law School, and you should receive the flat $6 fee (otherwise $10).

Non-University Parking:

Please note that the above ramps may impose a flat event parking rate due to the game. If so, we will post the information here. Please continue to visit this page for any further updates as the event approaches.
