Director
Alan Haynes
Alan Haynes joined the Career Center in September 2008 following three years as Associate Director of Career Services and Diversity Outreach Advisor at Brooklyn Law School. He also served as associate counsel for New York State United Teachers for three years and as an assistant district attorney with the New York County District Attorney's Office for five years. Prior to law school he taught American and world history, American government, public speaking, and debate at public schools in San Antonio. He received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, and his M.A. in education and B.A. in political science from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Assistant Director
Claudia Melo
Claudia joined the Career Center in August 2010. Most recently, Claudia was a career coach at the Carlson School of Management. Previously, she served as a career counselor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School in New York City. While there, she organized the law school's externship for credit program, served as editor of the monthly newsletter, and advised both LL.M and J.D. students. Before entering higher education administration, she was a staff attorney for the Youth Advocacy Center of Covenant House New Jersey and was also an associate for Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo in Boston, MA. Claudia received her B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.

Dana Bartocci
Dana joined the Career Center in February of 2009. Most recently Dana was the Professional Development and Pro Bono Coordinator at Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP. Previously she served as the Special Assistant to the Dean and Career Counselor at the University of Minnesota Law School, and the Associate Director of Career Services at William Mitchell College of Law. Dana currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Hennepin County Bar Association, and is active in the Minnesota Bar Association and Volunteer Lawyers Network. Dana received her J.D. and M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and her B.A. in Political Science and Cultural Studies at the University of Minnesota.

Career Counselor
Vic Massaglia
Vic joined the Career Center in August 2005. He previously was an Associate Director of Learning and Development, Center for Business Excellence, at the University of Saint Thomas (UST) College of Business. Vic has over 20 years of experience in coaching, training, and communication. He also was a career counselor for UST Graduate Business Career Services. He served for the United States Air Force for nine and a half years as a personnel administrator. Vic holds a degree in English education from the University of Minnesota – Mankato as well as a master’s degree in human resource development from the University of Saint Thomas. He is currently serving at president of the Minnesota Legal Professionals City Group.

Career Counselor
Sarah Rohne
Sarah joined the Career Center as a career counselor, bringing a background in legal practice, legal recruiting, and attorney professional development. After completing her J.D. at Hamline University School of Law, she was an associate with Meagher & Geer in Minneapolis, practicing in construction and product liability litigation. Most recently she was a senior recruiter at Beacon Hill Legal Staffing. Sarah is on the Board of Directors of the Hennepin County Bar Association, co-chair of its Membership Committee, and former chair of its New Lawyers Section. She is also very active in the Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and other community volunteer organizations.

Public Interest Coordinator
Amanda Furst
Amanda joined the Career Center staff as its inaugural public interest coordinator, a position dedicated to administering the new Public Interest Scholars Program. The Program, funded by a generous gift from the Robina Foundation, was created to support students who wish to pursue a career in public interest work. Amanda, a 2008 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law, started her career as an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow where she developed a Medical-Legal Partnership Project. She served as staff attorney in the Employment and Public Benefits Unit, then in the Housing Law Unit, of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in New Orleans. Most recently, she was a career advisor at Hamline University School of Law. She has also volunteered at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, HOME Line, and Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance.

Office Manager
Laura Sorenson
Laura started at the Career Center in January 2010 as a Human Resource Development intern and was hired that summer as its Operations Administrator. In August 2011, she was promoted to Office Manager. Laura has a B.S. in human resource development and business and marketing from the University, as well as several years of experience working for Target Corp. She is secretary for the Minnesota Organization Development Network and a member of the Law School's Professional Development Committee and Safety Committee.

Program Coordinator
Simona Suen
Simona joined the Career Center in January 2010 as a Human Resource Development intern and was hired that summer as the Center’s administrative assistant. In March 2011 she became program coordinator and manages legal recruiting programs, including coordination of fall on- and off-campus interviews, work study, and fellowship programs. She has a B.S. in human resource development and management from the University and several years of work experience with Target Corp.
