Business Law Concentration and Certification

A concentration in business law prepares students to practice in a wide range of areas in this field. Nationally renowned faculty teach courses in commercial, corporate, securities regulation, tax, antitrust, and other important areas of business law.

Students can immerse themselves in business law through seminars, lectures, clinics, and a corporate externship program. They have access to interdisciplinary courses and seminars, student groups, and all the educational events and facilities the University offers.

Business Law Concentration highlights include:

• A wide variety of core and specialized courses and seminars, from mergers and acquisitions to international business transactions to white-collar and corporate crime
• An opportunity to do a one-to-one independent research and writing project with a business law faculty member on a topic of mutual interest
• A corporate externship summer program, 150 hours of in-house experience in the work and environment of a corporate legal department
• Opportunities for networking and career employment with alumni worldwide
• Opportunities to participate in live-client clinics
