Description:
This seminar deals with the history and legal context of women's human rights; the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and its impact; specific topics such as property and other economic rights, reproductive rights, and violence against women; women's human rights and CEDAW in the U.S.; and the role of nongovernmental organizations in making CEDAW work for women.
