Description:

This course is designed to present the prominent legal issues involved in attempts to address greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate climate change.

We will learn how air emissions are regulated under the Clean Air Act & how energy companies are regulated under relevant energy laws. We will have sessions on legal issues applicable to the development of power plants, corporate responsibility & liability for climate change & a look ahead to upcoming int'l negotiations on post-Kyoto Protocol treaty & potential US legislation to address climate change.
