Description:This is a part of the Legal Research & Writing Course. This class will study the basic doctrine of statutory interpretation-the canons, legislative history. Statutory interpretation is a key skill for modern lawyers, and the traditional common law focus of the first year does not reflect that reality. |

Details:Sections A and B Get a
copy of the syllabus, available on my course TWEN site. For Tuesday,
1/22, read ch. 1 in Brown, and read the Day 1 materials in the course
packet, available on the legal writing/statutory interpretation TWEN
site as well as on my course site. After
you review the materials, go to my course TWEN site, follow the link to
the
Customized Polling forum, and answer the questions in the “Vehicles in
the
Park” poll. The questions parallel the
ones contained in the packet on pages 6-9.
Be sure to make some notes to remind you why you voted as you did to
inform our classroom discussion. Please finish the poll by midnight on
