Description:
Biotechnology, Bioethics and The Law offers a comprehensive analysis of the developing field commonly classified as biotechnology. It is one of the first classes of its kind for law, business and ethics students. This course will be attractive not only to health law students, but also students in the general curriculum. Divided into twelve core sections, it combines theory and ethics to the study of biotechnology, which is a complex field merging science, medicine, law, and commerce. This course is multi-focused, documenting the critical developmental stages of biotechnology and the laws that regulate it, with probing ethical analysis. The course objective is to encourage critical thinking among students and to generate lively class discussions.
