Commencement is a celebratory event, and graduates are welcome to invite family members and other supporters. No degrees are conferred at the ceremony itself. As the commencement ceremony takes place just once each year, students who complete graduation requirements at a time other than at the conclusion of Spring semester are welcome to participate in commencement within one year of their expected fulfillment of all degree requirements. Honors noted in the commencement bulletin are provisional, and may change once students’ final grades are entered.
If you have any questions about the commencement ceremony, contact Linda Lokensgard, Commencement Coordinator (625-2023, shimm001@umn.edu, Room 474.) Commencement ceremony information can also be found at w: Current Students / Academic Life / Graduation & Bar Certification / Commencement.
