ExamSoft/Computer Requirement
Students are expected to use laptop computers equipped with ExamSoft software for all standard Law School final examinations. Students may not use an alternative software or hardware product to ExamSoft. No typewriters or handwriting are allowed as an alternative to the use of computers equipped with ExamSoft, except in appropriate circumstances by variance as determined by the Dean of Students Office. Take-home examinations are not administered via ExamSoft and can be completed on student laptops and printed for submission.
In advance of final exams each semester, detailed information is sent to students via University email about how to download the ExamSoft software and all necessary exam files. Students are responsible for reading and carefully following these instructions within the timeframe provided. Students who do not follow these instructions within the timeframe provided each semester may not be able to use the ExamSoft/SofTest software, and may be required to handwrite their exams. For further information about the use of ExamSoft, contact Law Technology staff at 625-0740 or law-tech@umn.edu.
