Classrooms
No food is allowed in the classrooms during a class session unless the class is being conducted over the noon hour, or eating has been specifically permitted by the professor conducting the class. Beverages are permitted, but must be carried in covered containers that are both spill-proof and leak-proof. Permissible containers include squeeze bottles and reusable cups with lids. Beverages in bottles and cans are also acceptable. Please do not bring open mugs or glasses.
Computer Lab
No food or beverages are allowed in the Computer Labs at any time. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in revocation of a student’s lab privileges, and the student may be held financially responsible for damages.
Courtrooms and Related Facilities
No food or beverages are allowed in Courtrooms 170 and 180 or Room 25 when used as a Courtroom.
Exams
No eating is allowed in the classrooms during an examination because it is disruptive to others. If you need to eat something, please leave the room and go to a lounge area. If you have a medical condition that requires you to eat at regular intervals, you should seek an exam variance from the Assistant Dean of Students, which will permit you to take the examination in a separate room. Laptops
Students are advised to use caution with food or drink near laptop, as they may be financially responsible for damage, loss or theft. Students purchasing laptops are advised to secure homeowner's or renter's insurance to cover loss or damage not covered by the laptop extended warranty (theft, loss, flood, fire, etc.). Deductibles for private insurance vary by provider.
Library
Patrons are permitted to bring beverages and food into the library. Beverages must be carried in covered containers which are both spill-proof and leak-proof. Permissible containers include squeeze bottles, reusable cups with lids, bottles, and cans. Please do not bring in open mugs or glasses filled with beverages. Patrons are expected to dispose of all wrappings and remains of food in a responsible manner.
Law Technology Office
No student food or beverages are allowed in Room 260. If you have brought them with you they will need to be placed on the designated table at the front of the office. Students may be held financially responsible for damage to equipment, furnishings or personal belongings.
