Police, (UMPD)

The U of MN Police department can be reached at: 4-COPS (612-624-2677). The UMPD are dedicated to protecting the people and property of the University of Minnesota community. Don’t hesitate to contact them. http://www1.umn.edu/police/.

Emergencies › Call 911 – For emergencies, crimes in progress and when in doubt.

Dialing 911 from a campus phone will provide you with direct contact to the University Police, Fire and Emergency services.

Dialing 911 from a cell phone on campus will provide you with direct contact to the University Police or Minneapolis Police dispatch. Typically it will go to the Campus UMPD, but both Police departments work closely together and are equally capable in responding. Let them know where you are on the U of MN campus.
