"I think what's important is that we laid the foundation to help our classmates understand why it's important to give to the Law School now, even if they've just graduated."

Class of 2011 Starts New Tradition and Pledges $20,000

As the Class of 2011 began its final semester this past winter, students’ thoughts turned not only to their future careers, but also to how they could make an impact on their Law School after graduation. Instead of raising money for a traditional class gift, the Class of 2011 Gift Committee, led by Matthew Webster and Chelsea Brennan, started a new tradition by asking their classmates to pledge to support the Law School each of the first five years after graduation. An incredible 25% of the class responded to the challenge, committing to give a total of $20,000 over the next five years. In recognition of the class’s efforts, the Office of Advancement and the Dean’s Office purchased a new piece of artwork for the Law School to be hung in the class’s honor. A post-graduate fellowship also will be awarded in honor of the Class of 2011.

Robina Foundation Supports New Institute and Scholarships

The Law School recently received one of the largest gifts in its history: a grant of $8.75 million from the Robina Foundation. The grant will be used to support creation of a Criminal Justice Institute and to advance the Law School's goal of addressing students' financial burden.

Join the 20% by June 30 Countdown - Make Your Gift Today!

Give Now! Our sincere gratitude goes to those of you who have made a gift to the Law School since July 2010. Thanks to your generosity, we are only 437 alumni donors away from reaching 20% alumni giving participation, which would be a first for the Law School. As state funding disappears, the Law School must build a broader community of supporters to maintain its tradition of excellence. Your gift, of any size, matters. By supporting the Partners in Excellence Annual Fund, you have a direct impact on our students, helping provide everything from scholarships, clinical education, and student organizations and ensuring that the next generation receives the same excellent legal training you did. Please take a moment to think about the Law School’s powerful influence on your life and make a gift before the end of our fiscal year on June 30. Thank you again.
