Jonathan O. Steen (’92) has been elected the 135th president of the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA), which he has served in various capacities for more than a decade. He took the oath of office June 13 at the group's annual convention in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
It may be the only honor that has been shared by Elvis Presley, John F. Kennedy, and Richard Nixon—not to mention Bill Clinton, Orson Welles, Dick Cheney, and Susan Butcher. Now Lauren Beach, a 2012 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and a current Ph.D. candidate at the University, has joined this distinguished and eclectic group, having been named to the United States Junior Chamber's 2014 list of the 10 men and women under age 40 "who best exemplify the highest attributes of the nation's emerging generation."

The Law School's Career Center is pleased to invite employers to participate in its 2014 national and on-campus recruiting programs, which are designed to offer flexibility in recruiting to meet employers' needs. The Career Center will coordinate interview schedules from half-day to full-day schedules. Employers may specify hiring criteria, select required applicant materials, and interview candidates that they pre-select. The locations and dates include Washington, D.C. Minnesota Law Review's alumni committee is seeking Law Review alumni willing to serve as mentors to the incoming staff members for Volume 99. The mentorship program provides Law Review members with the opportunity to connect with alumni, explore areas of law in which they have an interest, and receive advice about applying and interviewing for jobs.
