Richey Scholarship Will Benefit Law Students Motivated to Represent the Underserved

The Richeys hope that the Paula K. and S. Walter Richey Scholarship will provide financial aid to law students faced with the prospect of burdensome debt, and that it will help sustain the Law School's ability to attract students who are passionate about doing good in the world.

Class of 2014 Continues 3L Pledge Drive Tradition

The Class of 2014 continued the pledge drive tradition that began in 2011 by pledging to support the Law School in each of the first three years after graduation. Led by a terrific committee of students including Alexander Bagwell, Toni Haraldsen, Katharine "Tace" James, Anna Mazig, Melba Melton, and Irma Qureshi, the Class of 2014 achieved a terrific 42% participation rate. In recognition of their efforts, the Law School will award a one-time $5,000 fellowship to a member of their class to pursue a career in public interest work, and one of the common study spaces on the subplaza level of the Law School will get lighting improvements.

"My pledge recognizes the importance of alumni giving back. Alumni-funded scholarships helped make it possible for me to attend this law school, and alumni mentors and adjuncts played a significant role by sharing their vast wealth of experiences."
