In an opinion piece entitled "A Child Soldier, Interrogated and Tried" in the November 22, 2010, issue of the Boston Globe, Law School student Randolph Brickey ('11) discusses the implications of the October 31, 2010, conviction by a military tribunal of a 15-year-old caught up in the 2002 fighting in Afghanistan.
Both of the Law School's National Moot Court teams advanced to the Region 14 Moot Court Competition semifinals held November 18-20, 2010, at Drake University Law School. The Petitioner team was composed of third-year students Nora Crumpton, James Fuller, and Cicely Miltich, while the Respondent team was made up of third-year students Cortney Jones, Emily Van Brunt, and Katrina Wessbecker. The teams were coached by Clinical Professor Brad Clary and Adjunct Professor Kristin Sankovitz.
Joshua Fisher ('11) has described himself as a "Dodger diehard, a news addict, and a law nerd." He majored in English and minored in finance as an undergraduate at the University of Kansas, and he's concentrating on business law at the Law School. His Dodger Divorce Web site has received major attention among fans as well as national media, including the New York Times. Most recently Fisher was interviewed on American Public Media's Marketplace Morning Report.
Law School commencement is a formal ceremony and a festive occasion to which you may invite guests. Start thinking about inviting your family and friends so they will have plenty of time to make travel arrangements and obtain visa documents if necessary.
