CD/Cassette Player

We have one small Sony portable CD/Cassette player (a "boombox"). The CD player does not play MP3 files.

Laptops

The laptops are for use with an LCD projector and are for short-term use only. To use a laptop for a longer period, please contact LITS, 5-0740. The laptops have Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003, Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, and an Internet browser installed. In addition, all the laptops have a PowerPoint remote with laser pointer, an optical mouse, and a wireless network card or built-in wireless networking capability. Please give us any files that needed to be loaded on the laptop at least 48 hours in advance of the reservation to ensure that they will work. If you need to load special software, please allow 5 working days for installation and testing.

LCD Projectors

LCD projectors are used to attach to a laptop, VCR, or Visualizer (Document Camera) to project the display on to a wall-mounted or portable screen. We have 3 projectors for loan that vary in brightness from 1300 to 2000 lumens.

Microphones, Wired (indicate number needed in box)

Please indicate in Notes how you would like the microphones set up. For example: at a podium, one per table for 3 tables, or at the jury box. Also note if microphones are needed for singing or amplifying musical instruments.

Microphones, Wireless Handheld

There are hand held wireless microphones for use ONLY in Lockhart Hall, Room 25.

Microphones, Wireless Lavalier

There is a wireless lavalier microphone for use ONLY in Lockhart Hall, Room 25. Rooms 20, 30, 40, and 50 also have wireless lavalier microphones already installed and ready for use in those rooms only (1 per room).

Overhead Projectors

There are 6 overhead projectors on carts available for use. They are usually "checked out" to a Room for the semester so please do not move/remove them.

Portable Sound System

We have portable powered speakers with which we can amplify straighforward set-ups for voice and some audio equipment. We do not have have full sound studio and music DJ equipment. If needed, a podium must be ordered from Law School Facilities/Building management.

Portable Sound, Wireless

We have the capability of using a single wireless lavaliler OR handheld with the portable powered speakers.

Rooms With Built-In Equipment

Many classrooms have educational technology and presentation equipment built-in. Please follow the link to view the list. The Rooms need to reserved through the Room Reservation Form

Screen, Portable

For rooms that do not have a built-in screen (Dean's Conference Room, Reception Spaces, Rooms 1 and 3) we have several portable screens available. Note that all Class Rooms and Seminar Rooms (except 1 and 3) either have a screen or whiteboard as a projection surface

TV/DVD

We have two 20" color TV monitor with a combination DVD and VHS player. These units still have their remotes.

TV/VCRs

Few of the TV/VCRS have remote controls. Three 20" Color TVs with a VHS VCR on carts are available.

Visualizer

We have two visualizer/document cameras for displaying printed documents and physical objects. You must order an LCD Projector to display the output from this piece of equipment.

Videotaping

We are able to videotape using the built-in cameras in Court Room 170, Court Room 180, Class Room 20, and Lockhart Hall - Room 25. You need to make a separate room reservation on the Room Reservation Form. Your reservation through Law Educational Technology reserves the equipment but not the room for your use. We can also videotape using a portable VHS camcorder or a digital camcorder for special events. Please check the Technician box and indicate in Notes if a technician needs to be available for part or all of the event. If you require professional level videography, we can help you with a contract source.

Audio Taping

We are able to audio tape using a high quality cassette recorder or a digital voice recorder and external microphone. Please note that the sound quality and presence of ambient noise can vary widely when audio taping using external ambient microphones. We can also audio tape in Room 25 or Court Rooms 170, 180 instead of videotaping. Please check the Technician box and indicate in Notes if a technician needs to be available for part or all of the event.

Other Equipment

We are able to rent other equipment (for example a slide projector) from the University for Law School faculty, staff and student use. Just check Other on the request form and explain what you need in Notes.
