Professor Jessica A. Clarke joined the University of Minnesota faculty as an associate professor in June 2011, after spending two years as an Associate-in-Law at Columbia Law School.

She writes and teaches in the areas of civil procedure, employment discrimination, and family law.

Professor Clarke received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Whitman College in 2000 and her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2003. While in law school, she was a semifinalist in the Morris Tyler Moot Court competition and a member of the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Rosemary S. Pooler of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Shira A. Scheindlin of the Southern District of New York. She also worked as an associate in the New York office of Covington & Burling LLP, specializing in commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense, and at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, specializing in bankruptcy litigation.
