Applicants must have a law degree from a law school outside of the United States. Additionally, preference is given to individuals with two or more years of work experience. Applicants whose native language is not English must also demonstrate proficiency in English, most commonly through achieving a score of 550/213/79-80 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Strong preference is given to candidates with TOEFL scores of 600/250/100. IELTS scores are also accepted.
Tuition and Fees:
For 2013-2014 tuition, fees, insurance and book expenses are estimated at $54,400. Living costs for 10 months estimated at an additional $14,000 (for one person in modest student accommodations). This creates a total cost of $68,400 for the 2013-2014 program. Applicants must demonstrate adequate financial support for their educational and personal expenses prior to being admitted to the program. The University of Minnesota Law School has a limited amount of financial assistance available. All admitted students are considered for financial assistance.
