Additional Moot Court Successes

We are pleased to report on additional moot court successes in a stellar intercollegiate season for the U of M:

Our Giles S. Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court team (3Ls Jessica Kwak and David Twitchell) placed second in the Northeast Region, and is advancing to the national finals in Washington D.C. in that competition.

Our Civil Rights Moot Court team (3Ls Leah Bailey, Leah Janus, and Sara Van Norman) placed third in the William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition. Sara Van Norman (No. 3) and Leah Janus (No. 10) each placed among the top 10 best oral advocates overall.

Our Wagner Moot Court team (3Ls David Cox, Holly Knight, and Sarah Sjoholm) advanced to the octo-final round in the Wagner Labor Law competition in New York.

I am also pleased to report that Bridget McCauley won our own Maynard Pirsig Moot Court honors oral argument tournament, with Thomas Corbett finishing second. Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Kathleen Blatz, Associate Justices Paul Anderson and Russell Anderson, and Minnesota Court of Appeals Chief Judge Edward Toussaint judged the championship.

Lizbeth Robinson won the Maynard Pirsig Moot Court best brief competition, with Krista Matthews Dean finishing second.

Please join Prof. Bradley Clary in congratulating all of these students on their successes.
