During two weeks of winter break, Jan. 5-16, the 70 members of the University of Minnesota Law School's 2008-09 Asylum Law Project (ALP) volunteered approximately 2800 hours to legal aid organizations at home and across the United States. When the volunteering week during spring break in March is complete, ALP will have sent nearly 100 students to six locations (Minneapolis, Miami, Las Vegas, Nashville, El Paso, Texas, and Florence, Arizona).
Associate Professor William McGeveran will participate in a half-day conference entitled "Today's Online Privacy Challenges: Innovation and Liberty" on Jan. 26, 2008, at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. The conference will address Internet privacy regulations, policies, and issues.
