Kathleen Blatz (’84) Named Special Master to Oversee Funding During State Government Shutdown

With a Minnesota state government shutdown looming due to an apparent impasse on budget issues, Ramsey County Chief District Judge Kathleen Gearin appointed Kathleen Blatz (’84) as "special master." Blatz will hear pleas regarding funding and make recommendations to Gearin.

RaShya Cunningham (’13) Wins 2011 Fredrikson and Byron Minority Scholarship

RaShya Cunningham (’13) has been selected to receive the Fredrikson & Byron Foundation Minority Scholarship for 2011. The $10,000 award is sponsored jointly by the Foundation and the law firm of the same name.

Michael Carlin (’12) Wins National Law Review 2011 Law Student Writing Competition

Michael Carlin (’12) is among the winners of the National Law Review (NLR) 2011 Law Student Writing Competition for his article, "Employers Are Watching Your Facebook: Worker Privacy Significantly Diminished in the Digital Era." Submissions to the competition are limited to students enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school and are judged by NLR staff on the basis of readability, clarity, organization, timeliness, and usefulness to legal and business professionals.
