New Interim Director of Law Clinics Announced
The Law School is proud to announce that Jean M. Sanderson, Professor of Clinical Instruction, has been named Interim Director of Clinics and Skills. She replaces Professor Maury Landsman, who held the position since 2003 and recently retired from the directorship. He will continue to teach throughout the 2007-08 academic year.
Professor Sanderson has taught in the civil practice and family law clinics since joining the University of Minnesota Law School clinical faculty in 1991. She was awarded the first Stanley V. Kinyon Clinical Teaching Award in 1997.
In addition to classroom instruction, the Law Clinics offer students practical experience, through simulations and live courtroom work, to help them develop their lawyering skills. Without students’ free services through the Clinics, many lower-income individuals otherwise would have difficulty obtaining representation.
