Professor Monahan will speak at the National Center on Performance Incentives Annual Conference at Vanderbilt University on the legal issues associated with reforming retirement plans for public educators. The conference will bring together scholars from renowned universities and research institutions across the country to discuss the design and implications of teacher retirement systems used in the American K-12 public education system.

Professor Prentiss Cox was featured in a Minnesota Public Radio story, "Homeowners in Minn. Expect to Benefit from Obama Foreclosure Plan," analyzing the recent plan for attacking the foreclosure crisis unveiled by the Obama Administration. The story noted Cox's long history of work on these issues, including a bill passed by the 2008 Minnesota Legislature, but vetoed by the Governor, that would have deferred foreclosures and allowed thousands of homeowners to take advantage of the Obama initiative.
Cox also was quoted in a Pioneer Press article surveying local analysts about the Obama foreclosure plan.

Professor William McGeveran was interviewed on National Public Radio's All Things Considered program about controversy related to a change in Facebook's terms of service. McGeveran, who recently wrote a law review article about Facebook's use of personal information for advertising purposes, suggested that the actual change was minor, but that it drew public attention to the sweeping rights Facebook already claimed in information and content posted by users.

Professor Prentiss Cox was quoted in a syndicated column by Froma Harrop commenting on the prevalence of consumer fraud emanating from the sunbelt region. The column appeared in the Miami Herald and numerous other papers across the country.
Cox also was quoted in a December 20, 2008 story in the Pioneer Press regarding foreclosures in Minnesota.

Professor Myron Orfield, Executive Director, Institute on Race & Poverty, was interviewed for an article in TwinCities.com, titled "For Minnesota's minorities, the good life isn't as good." According to the the 2005-2007 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, the majority of black Minnesotans are lagging behind blacks in the rest of the nation. Orfield further states that gaps between blacks and whites are not limited to income and poverty rates, but include factors such as higher incarceration and subprime lending rates.
