Former Vice President Mondale (’56) to Speak at Commencement

FEBRUARY 15, 2011—The Office of the Dean of the University of Minnesota Law School is pleased to announce that former Vice President Walter F. Mondale (’56) will be the speaker at the 123rd Law School commencement ceremony, to be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

The commencement venue has recently changed. New this year, the graduation celebrations will take place at Mariucci Arena, 1901 S.E. 4th St., Minneapolis due to the Northrop Auditorium renovation project.

Vice President Mondale, a 1956 graduate, has been a loyal supporter of the Law School and a periodic commencement speaker. In his long public-service career, which includes Attorney General and U.S. Senator for Minnesota and U.S. Ambassador to Japan, he has been a representative of the Law School’s high ethical standards across the nation and around the world.
