OCTOBER 1, 2012—The Law School's Litigation and Trial Advocacy Group (LTAG) is hosting a panel discussion, "Perspectives on Litigation and Law from the Bench," by members of the Minnesota District Judges Association from 12:15-1:15 p.m. on October 12, 2012, in Room 25 of Mondale Hall, 229 19th Ave. S., Minneapolis.

The panel of Minnesota state court judges will discuss state court work as well as the dos and don'ts of litigation from the judges' perspectives. Panelists include:

  • Judge John P. Smith, appointed to the Ninth Judicial District (Cass County) Court in 1991 and president of the Minnesota District Judges Association
  • Judge Renee L. Worke, appointed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals in 2005
  • Associate Justice Wilhelmina M. Wright, recently appointed to the Minnesota Supreme Court

The program is free and open to the public. For directions and parking information, go to www.law.umn.edu/contact/directions.html.

LTAG is dedicated to promoting and providing educational opportunities on litigation, litigators, and alternative methods to litigation, particularly for Law School students who are interested in a career as a litigator. Each semester trial attorneys, litigators, judges, and others are invited to speak on major cases, their daily life as a litigator, or other real-world experiences.
