The Race is on to Meet Our Goals
JUNE 18, 2013—The race is on as we near the June 30 finishing line for the current fiscal year. Now that the Law School is essentially financially self-sufficient, increasing alumni participation to broaden our base of supporters and to build unrestricted funding is more important than ever.
Anyone can participate by contributing to the Partners in Excellence Annual Fund, which provides critical budget relief and supports core Law School priorities including student scholarships, faculty, clinics, and journals. Contributions can be made online at www.giving.umn.edu/law or by contacting Dinah Zebot in the Office of Advancement at 612-626-8671 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, the Partners at Work challenge is underway at 35 firms and companies that employ more than five Law School alumni. This challenge provides an opportunity for alumni to make a difference collectively on behalf of a firm or organization. All gifts to the Law School made by alumni at participating organizations counts toward their firm or company's giving participation goals.
We are pleased to report that three firms are already at 100% participation: Kaplan Strangis & Kaplan, led by Harvey Kaplan (’64); Gaskins Bennett, led by Ryan Vettleson (’01); and Zimmerman & Reed, led by Bucky Zimmerman (’72). Special thanks to these three and to the additional participating firms that have joined the challenge and are helping the Law School surpass last year's totals. To participate or for more information about the Partners at Work challenge, contact Joelle Larson, Alumni Relations & Annual Giving Officer, via email at email@example.com or by phone at 612-626-5363.
