Vic Massaglia Elected to NALP Board of Directors
MAY 7, 2012—Career Counselor Vic Massaglia was elected to a two-year term on the board of directors at the National Association for Law Placement's (NALP) annual business meeting on April 20, 2012. NALP's Board of Directors serves as its governing body and consists of 13 members.
"I am very honored and privileged to represent the University of Minnesota Law School," Massaglia says. "I appreciate the support of the Career Center and the law school community, and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to interact with and assist my colleagues nationwide in helping students and attorneys reach their career and professional-development goals."
Previously, Massaglia was a member of NALP's Technology Advisory Group (2010-11), served as a Regional Coordinator (2009-10), was a member of the Long Range Strategic Planning Committee (2008-09), and was vice-chair of the Newer Professionals Section (2008-09). Massaglia has given presentations at five NALP conferences and contributed six articles to the NALP Bulletin.
Prior to joining the Law School's Career Center in 2005, Massaglia was an Associate Director of Learning and Development and a career counselor at the University of St. Thomas College of Business. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for nearly ten years as a personnel administrator. Massaglia is a member of the Minnesota Career Development Association, past president of the Minnesota Legal Career Professionals, and a board member for the Minnesota Organization Development Network.
Founded in 1971, NALP is a nonprofit association working to improve career counseling and planning, recruitment and retention, and the professional development of law students, lawyers, and its members. NALP's membership includes every ABA-accredited U.S. law school, many Canadian law schools, and more than 900 of the largest law firms and legal employers.
