Weissbrodt Honored for International Law Contributions
MARCH 13, 2008 — Professor David Weissbrodt has been selected for the Stefan A. Riesenfeld Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to international law by his alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall).
The Board of Editors of the Berkeley Journal of International Law give the annual award to a recipient who displays commitment to the values and beliefs of Riesenfeld, who taught at Boalt for 46 years.
On March 14, Weissbrodt will deliver the keynote address at the eighth annual Riesenfeld Symposium, formed this year to study ways the legal profession can help multinational corporations advance human rights across the world. Weissbrodt will receive the award at a reception following the day’s events.
Weissbrodt joined the University of Minnesota Law School’s faculty in 1975 and teaches international human rights law, administrative law, immigration law, and torts. He is founder and co-director of the Law School’s Human Rights Center.
