William Stock (’93) Elected Secretary of American Immigration Lawyers Association
JULY 19, 2011—William Stock (’93) was elected 2011-12 Secretary of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) by the organization’s membership at the 55th annual conference in San Diego in June 2011.
Stock is a founding partner of Klasko, Rulon, Stock and Seltzer, a business immigration and nationality law firm, in Philadelphia. He manages employment-based immigration for companies and individuals; complex family-based, citizenship, and naturalization matters; defense of removal proceedings; and other immigration issues. He was named one of the top U.S. immigration lawyers in Chambers & Partners’ 2011 Guide to Global Law Firms.
In 2000 Stock was selected to receive the AILA’s Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award for outstanding accomplishments in immigration and nationality law. He is a senior editor of AILA's annual Immigration & Nationality Law Handbook and is co-author of the J Visa Guidebook on regulations and sponsorship for the exchange visitor nonimmigrant visa program. As secretary, he is part of the AILA executive committee, the primary representatives of the group along with the board of governors and responsible for its affairs.
Founded in 1946, AILA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that provides CLE, professional services, and expertise through its 36 chapters and more than 50 national committees. Its 11,000 membership is composed of attorneys and professors who practice and teach immigration law and work to advance immigration and nationality law and policy.
