WLSA Holds Annual Judicial Luncheon
by Brita Johnson
In November, the Law School opened its doors to some of the most interesting and accomplished women in the local legal community during the Women’s Law Student Association’s Annual Judicial Luncheon (WLSA). The event is always one of WLSA’s most popular and well attended events. This year WLSA hosted eight judges and approximately thirty WLSA members. This year’s attendees included:
To maintain a casual and inviting atmosphere, the event is generally limited to judges and students with no formal program or speech. Both students and judges know, however, that the luncheon gives them a unique opportunity that is both educational and inspirational. The lessons are both practical and entertaining. Students have the opportunity to hear practice tips, meet judges on a personal level, and expand their ambitions for their legal careers. From time to time, the judges even share some of their favorite stories from the bench, to the delight of their tables! Every year the judges express their excitement at the opportunity to share their stories with aspiring members of the legal community and the students enjoy meeting members of the judiciary.
