Unincorporated Business Associations

Course Description:

This course would cover in much more detail material currently covered in the first part of the Business Associations/Corporations course. Material that gets about one credit’s worth of coverage there would be expanded to receive three credits of coverage in this course. There are two main reasons for creating such a course. First and most pressingly, when we created the new 1L Corporations elective, which is three credits, we trimmed the four credit BA/Corps course essentially by dropping the unincorporated associations material. That was necessary given the structural constraints of credits available in the first year, but the students who take the 1L course need exposure to this material, and they cannot take the BA/Corps course because there is far too much overlap with the material on corporations.
