Corporate Fellowship

Program Summary

The Minnesota Law Corporate Fellowship Program pairs corporations and recent graduates in full-time career building legal employment opportunities. Fellowships typically last one year and are designed to provide important professional development and legal skill advancement as the fellows continue along their career paths. Fellowships are crafted specifically by each corporate partner, allowing the fellow to experience a one-of-a-kind training opportunity. The candidate selection is competitive, thus providing corporate partners with talent enthusiastic to contribute to the corporation’s legal team.  

Fellowship Overview for Partner Corporations

Length of Fellowship: ​A Minnesota Law Corporate Fellowship typically lasts for approximately one year or longer, similar to a judicial clerkship. Selection of Fellows: ​ A partner corporation will post for candidates through Minnesota Law’s online Symplicity job posting system in consultation with the Career Center. Once posted, the partner corporation will review application materials, select candidates to interview, and personally determine whom they hire. Compensation to Fellows: ​ A partner corporation will pay the fellow at a level commensurate with the position and comparable compensation within the corporation, with a minimum annual salary of $60,000 or greater. Benefits are also strongly encouraged to the fellow.

Who are Corporate Fellowships for? ​
Fellowships are entry-level career opportunities for graduating law students.

What/When is the application process?
​Corporate Fellowship positions are posted in Symplicity beginning the spring semester of a student’s third year and are posted on a continual basis as received up until nine months after graduation.

Will I be compensated?
Yes. Partner corporations pay the salary of the fellows commensurate with the position and comparable compensation within the corporation.

How long will my fellowship last?
Acceptance of a Minnesota Law Corporate Fellowship is a commitment, you will be expected to fulfill your fellowship. The specific start and end dates of each fellowship will be determined between the partner corporation and hired fellow (typically September 1 start date) and will be expected to last approximately one year or longer.
