Mentoring Program

The Corporate Institute Mentoring Program provides law students with an opportunity to learn about business and business law careers from University of Minnesota Law School alumni. Students can explore opportunities in business or business law through meaningful career conversations with mentor alums all over the world.

The Law School encourages potential alumni mentors to participate if they have business-related experience in broadly defined capacities, including not only business lawyer and business litigator, but also those in any business context, whether entrepreneur, executive, tax accountant, lobbyist or other role.

To be a mentor, get started here. See the PDF iconMentor User Guide for detailed instructions.

Whether you know a great deal or little about business or business law, you are encouraged to explore the potential of a business-related career by reaching out to those who have gone before you in these capacities. Be inspired by the 250 alumni who have chosen careers in business and business law. To join the Corporate Institute Mentoring Program, complete these steps:

  1. Read the PDF iconStudent User Guide.
  2. Watch the 18-minute video orientation below.
  3. Complete your commitment form—instructions are in the video orientation.
