Students will explore the values placed on information in the modern corporate enterprise, as well as the risks, costs and challenges associated with governing various forms of information, given the innumerable laws and regulations that apply to information. The purpose of the broad survey is to expose students to multiple disciplines that will undoubtedly affect their careers, and help them to develop a real-world sense of options to enhance risk avoidance, cost containment and compliance.

Students will be exposed to various disciplines related to the management of information, which have traditionally been “siloed” or separate — including e-discovery, privacy, records and information management, and security — but which increasingly are seen as parts of a greater, integrated whole.
