The ability to negotiate is a key skill for all lawyers. This seminar will explore different legal aspects of negotiation and expose the student to different negotiation models and theories. The goal of the seminar is to provide the student with both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in negotiations. The course will emphasize negotiations in the context of both civil litigation such as product liability actions and patent litigation and commercial and business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and complex business arrangements. In addition to class reading and discussion, students will take part in negotiations based on real life situations. The student’s performance in these negotiations will be part of the final grade.
