Race and the Law: Systems, Structures, and Solutions – 6915

Fall 2020

This course will examine whiteness, racism and their connection to traditional legal topics: property, education, and crime. Exploration will include case law, legal theory, and practical application. Students will create a final paper that highlights a community harm and proposes practical solutions. Students will present their final project to members of community organizations and engage in real-world dialogue about the analysis of community harm and the likely effectiveness of the proposed solution.
