A graduate of Princeton University and the University of Minnesota Law School, Pierson has worked for more than twenty years in the nonprofit world. She helped start the Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership as its first Executive Director. She helped form private-public partnerships to protect and advocate for metro greenways, urban park access, clean water, natural lands and our Minnesota heritage. She sits on the state’s Mississippi River Parkway Commission, leads two Minneapolis initiatives to connect urban neighborhoods with the Mississippi River, and serves on several nonprofit boards.

  • We Conserve natural areas on the urban fringe.
  • We Restore lakes and streams for safe swimming and fishing.
