The Human Rights Center at the University of Minnesota Law School and Mossier Social Action and Innovation Center invite you to a lecture on business and human rights with renowned guest expert, Mr. Bennett Freeman, and Professor Jennifer Green.

Mr. Freeman is an internationally renowned expert in the fields of business and human rights, natural resource governance, and responsible investment. Working at the intersection of governments, international institutions, multinational companies, investors, NGOs, and trade unions, Mr. Freeman has played pioneering roles in developing several now well-established, multi-stakeholder initiatives and global standards.

With a long career of advising multinational companies, international institutions, and NGOs on corporate responsibility and human rights, Mr. Freeman is currently a Principal of Bennett Freeman Associates LLC and a Senior Advisor to BSR. He is Chair of the Advisory Board of Global Witness, Board Secretary of the Global Network Initiative, and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Responsible Sourcing Network. From 2006-15 he served as Senior Vice President for Social Research and Policy at Calvert Investments leading the social, environmental, and governance research, analysis, policy and advocacy work of the largest family of socially
responsible mutual funds in the U.S. He also served in three positions as a Clinton presidential appointee in the State Department, including as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.
