Third Annual MLK Convocation
Facing North: Implicit Bias in Minnesota Courts
University of Minnesota students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to the Third Annual MLK Convocation on Wednesday, January 22, 2018, at 12:15 PM in Lockhart Hall (Room 25).
“Facing North: Implicit Bias in Minnesota Courts” features a discussion between The Honorable Pamela G. Alexander, ‘77, Judge of the 4th District Court of Minnesota, and Professor Francis X. Shen, McKnight Land-Grant Professor, Executive Director of Education and Outreach for the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Law and Neuroscience, moderated by Dean Garry W. Jenkins, William S. Pattee Professor of Law.
We invite participants to explore Dr. King’s speeches and writings on justice, many of which are archived digitally by The King Center.
In 2016, the Law School’s Diversity Committee established the annual MLK Convocation as a forum to honor Dr. King’s legacy and continued relevance to members of the legal community.
A light lunch will be provided for those who RSVP by Wednesday, January 17th.
