TORT Presents: Super Smash Gophers! 

Due to a double-booking at our venue, we have been required to move our show to a different location. The new park is Graco Park in Minneapolis. The exact address is: Graco Park, 15 N 8th St, Minneapolis, MN 55403 (please include "Graco Park" in your search, as Google sometimes gets confused).

Since this is a Drive-In and everyone will be in a vehicle, we hope that this change will not prevent anyone from being able to attend. If you are unable to attend due to this change, please contact tort@umn.edu and we will work with you to make the appropriate accommodations as necessary.

The University of Minnesota Law School sets itself apart, not just in academic achievement, but also in musical talent. Every year, the Theatre of the Relatively Talentless (TORT) stages a musical that is written, produced, directed, and performed solely by law school students. What began in 2002 has now grown into a highly anticipated, annual spectacle, providing law students (along with faculty, judges, and other legal scholars) with a much-needed creative outlet. This year's show, Super Smash Gophers, follows the journey of an optimistic law student and his best friend as they try to get him to his OCI interview at a prestigious law firm. One jealous peer, at the behest of her overbearing boss and with the help of the League of Evil Interns, sets up a series of games to stop our hero from making his interview and guaranteeing the position for herself. Will our hero make it through every level of the subplaza? Will he get any cool powerups along the way and beat the game? You’ll have to join us on May 7–9 to find out!

May 7: Drive-In Opening Night, 7:30pm-10:00pm

May 8: Drive-In/Zoom Simulcast, 7:30pm-10:00pm

May 9: Zoom Matinee, 2:00pm-4:30pm

We have two Drive-In showings and two Zoom showings! Please note that Drive-In spots are extremely limited. One ticket per vehicle. All individuals in attendance at a Drive-In showing who are outside of their vehicles will be expected to wear a mask. This will be strictly enforced.

COVID Precautions:

TORT has taken numerous COVID precautions during the past few months. We have acted under the advice and guidelines of the CDC, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the University of Minnesota. The Drive-In showings will be outdoors. Vehicles will be distanced nine feet from one another on either side, and individuals outside of their vehicle will be expected to wear a mask. This will be strictly enforced.
