IRISH PENAL LAW - SOURCE

Source : Abridgement-Oaths, sec. 14; Stats of the Realm, sec 11, Vol VI, p. 254. Pickering, Statutes at Large, vol IV, p129, sec. 14. Pickering breaks this statute differently from Statutes of the Realm.. We have used the Pickering system for this statute, and it is this version which appears in the full text. Although I am not certain, this section apparently requires only the Oath of Allegiance, not Abhorrence. This conclusion is supported by the reference to the Oath of Allegiance in the prior section regarding persons covered by Articles of Limerick. Also the margin notes in Stats of the Realm which summarize the section refer only to the Oath of Allegiance.
