Bridgid E. Dowdal (’94) Appointed Judge in Minnesota's 10th District

Bridgid E. Dowdal (’94) has been appointed by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to serve as a district court judge in the state’s 10th Judicial District. The 10th Judicial District includes Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright Counties. During his announcement, Governor Dayton praised Dowdal for her “exemplary commitment to public service” and added that her “efforts to serve her community and improve the lives of Minnesotans have made our state better.”

Dowdal is the chief legal counsel for the Minnesota Department of Human Services Office of the Inspector General, where she is responsible for providing legal analysis and research on health care matters including licensing, child care, and cash programs. Previously, she was the assistant dean for career and professional development at the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, an assistant United States attorney, and a judicial law clerk to Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Sandra S. Gardebring. Before enrolling at the Law School, she earned a B.S. from Boston University and an LL.M. from the University of Scotland, Aberdeen.

Dowdal will be chambered at Center City in Chisago County.
