Krzysztof Wysokinski (’16) Wins State Bar Association Service Award

Krzysztof “Chris” Wysokinski (’16) has been named the winner of the 2016 Bernard P. Becker Law Student Volunteer Award, presented by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) to a law student who has “demonstrated a commitment to the provision of legal services to low-income and disadvantaged persons.” The honor is one of four Becker service awards given annually by the MSBA; the other three go to working attorneys.

During his time at the Law School, Wysokinski has worked as a certified student attorney with two nonprofit organizations, the Neighborhood Justice Center in St. Paul and the Council on Crime and Justice in Minneapolis. As student director of the Law School’s Consumer Protection Clinic, he has supervised and mentored other student attorneys on case and litigation development. Wysokinski has served as the student managing editor of Constitutional Commentary; student director and competition team member of the Civil Rights Moot Court; research assistant for Professor Dale Carpenter; and president of the Criminal Justice League. Since February 2015 he has worked as a law clerk in the consumer rights practice group at Nichols Kaster in Minneapolis. Following graduation, he will be continuing with the firm as an attorney.
