Humphrey School of Public Affairs To Dedicate Its Commons To Joan and Walter Mondale ’56

On April 5, the Humphrey School of Public Affairs will hold a dedication event at the Humphrey School’s newly named Joan and Walter Mondale Commons.

The program kicks off at 5 p.m. with a panel discussion examining the role of art in public policy followed at 6 p.m. with the dedication honoring the contributions of Joan and Walter Mondale ’56. A reception will immediately follow the dedication.

The Mondale Commons is the Humphrey School’s central gathering space and includes displays of art created by Joan Mondale, a lifelong supporter of the arts whose advocacy earned her the nickname Joan of Art during her husband’s term as the 42nd vice president of the United States.
