Professor Tom Cotter Named Associate Dean of Research and Planning

Professor Tom Cotter was recently appointed as the Law School’s new associate dean of research and planning.

Cotter, Taft Stettinius & Hollister Professor of Law, joined the Law School in 2006. His teaching and scholarship focuses on intellectual property law, antitrust, and law and economics. He is a prolific scholar with many books and articles including those published in the California Law Review, the Georgetown Law Journal, the Iowa Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, among others. He was elected to membership in the American Law Institute in 2019.

As associate dean of research and planning, Cotter will join the Law School’s leadership team, supporting faculty scholarship and research, strategic initiatives, and guiding our intellectual community.

Professor Amy Monahan, whose three-year term as associate dean of research and planning ends on Aug. 2, plans to return to her research, teaching, and service.
