Cheryl Krusen, Senior Counsel, a Jamaican/Belizean/US national, is an Attorney-at-law with over forty years of experience in the legal profession. Her love of international law has been her primary focus for many years, relating them in particular towards the development of jurisprudence. She has an LL.B (Hons) from the University of the West Indies (UWI); a Legal Education Certificate from the Caribbean Council of Legal Education; and an MSc. from UWI.

She has worked as Legal Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Jamaica; Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Jamaica. She headed the Law Development Section of 53 nation Commonwealth Secretariat in London, from 2002–2008; and thereafter served as General Counsel of the member states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). From June 2011 – June 2013, Mrs. Krusen was Solicitor General for Belize. Since 2013, Mrs. Krusen has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School.

Mrs. Krusen has written several publications and is the author of Bringing Justice Home: The Road to Final Regional Appellate Court Establishment. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Commonwealth Law Bulletin. She is married to Cristóbal Krusen.
