Adam Hansen is a practicing appellate attorney who works to advance the rights of employees and consumers. He has litigated numerous cases in the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals. In 2018, Hansen represented a proposed class of employees before the U.S. Supreme Court in Lewis v. Epic Systems, a case addressing the rights of employees to pursue workplace remedies collectively. In 2015, in Nickols v. Mortgage Bankers Association, Hansen represented three employees before the Supreme Court against a mortgage industry trade group. The case resolved a seminal issue of administrative law, establishing that federal agencies may revise their interpretative rules without going through notice-and-comment rulemaking.
Before entering private practice, Hansen clerked for the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Hansen is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, Class of 2008.
