Jean Coleman holds a J.D. and an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa. Ms. Coleman is currently a staff attorney with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, previously served as director of a national nonprofit farmland preservation organization, and owned two private land use consulting firms focusing on natural resource protection.
Ms. Coleman was born and raised in rural Iowa and spent law school summers detassling corn and walking beans. Her interests in agricultural law include drainage, farmland and forestland preservation, and agricultural conservation practices. Ms. Coleman previously taught the Environmental and Energy Law Clinic at the University of Minnesota Law School for seven years, connecting law students with real-world clients.
