John Gordon is a lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator in Minneapolis. Formerly a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, he has focused for more than 40 years on complex civil litigation and dispute resolution with an emphasis on commercial, corporate, professional responsibility, and fiduciary issues. John has represented plaintiffs challenging the constitutionality of Minnesota’s conceal/carry statute, plaintiffs in LGBT anti-harassment litigation, clients seeking asylum in the US, and clients seeking orders for protection. He has also worked with the Advocates for Human Rights, the American Constitution Society, Volunteer Lawyers Network, the Minneapolis Indian Women’s Resource Center, Tubman Chrysalis, and ACLU-MN. He is an emeritus director and former chair of The Fund for Legal Aid.

John has tried to conclusion, either solo or first-chair, more than 100 jury cases. He has resolved countless more through negotiation, including hundreds of formal mediations, both as an advocate and as a neutral. In addition, he has argued for clients in administrative hearings, motions, and appeals. John was also Professional Responsibility Counsel to Faegre Baker Daniels, handling employment, ethical, and business matters, as well as claims of alleged malpractice.
