Educational Technology Service Policies

These policies apply to the Law School community. For non-Law School community requests, please see the section at the bottom of this page.

Standard equipment and service reservations include requests for:

  • Projectors
  • Document camera
  • Portable Sound
  • Audio / Video recording
  • Audio / Video conference
  • Microphone set up
  • Conference Telephones
  • Technician assistance

Video Recording
We record mp4 digital video for online presentation.

Video Conferences
Please include technical contact information for the other site in the notes section of the Technology request form. Law Ed Tech will need to run a test connection with the other site prior to your actual reservation. Law Ed Tech need at least a 48-hour notice for these.

Special Events, Conferences, Weekends and Evenings
We are not staffed on weekends and minimally staffed in the evenings. Please contact help@umn.edu (612-301-4357) to discuss your event.

Centers and Institutes (Law School)
Basic technology support is provided without charge for events held in Mondale Hall when the Center or Institute is the major sponsor. Law Ed Tech will provide an mp4 file for recorded events but does not produce DVDs, digital video, or audio files for the Centers or Institutes. If your event has extensive staffing or technology needs, a surcharge may apply. Please contact drmosman@umn.edu for further information.

Non-Law School Community Services
We do not provide event technology support for non-law school groups except in certain prearranged circumstances and charges will apply. Please see the Technology Rates page. We will record video, however, we do not produce DVDs, digital video, or audio for non-law groups. Please contact help@umn.edu for further information.

Non-Law School groups should contact Facilities & Events at lawevent@umn.edu for space rental.
